JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. LP Findley, 86, of Hankinson Street, who entered into rest April 8, 2013, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Mark Riser officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens with Veterans Honors and Masonic Rites. Mr. Findley was a native of Vidalia, GA, having made Jackson his home for the past 62 years. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, retired from E.I. DuPont with 34 years of service and was a member of Matlock Baptist Church. Mr. Findley was a Master Carpenter who enjoyed woodworking, making lumber, gardening and fruit trees. He was a loving husband and father who had a giving heart and truly cared for the people of Jackson. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Peggy Findley; a son, Kenneth Dean Findley, Jackson, SC; a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Jim Lawrence, Fredericksburg, VA; four sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Hodges, SC, Lucille Freeman, Eloise Findley and June Smith, all of Ware Shoals, SC; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #127 A.F.M. Active Pallbearers will be Chris McNeely, Chad McNeely, Ronnie McNeely, Stephen Fitzgerald, Kenneth Teuton and Mike McWhirter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening from 6 until 8.
