MARTINEZ, Ga. - Lehman Buddy J. Wilson, 69, entered into rest on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Buddy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served 3 tours from 1963-1975 during the Vietnam War. He earned many awards during his military career including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He served on the Inshore Undersea Warfare Group One on the USS Pledge (MSO-492). Buddy also spent time working in the wood and metal shops. He enjoyed gardening (flower and vegetable), being outdoors, carpentry, and fishing. Survivors include his sister, Peggy Wilson Davis (Mark Drake) of Martinez, GA; four nephews, Donald Mike Davis of Franklin, TN, Robert Anthony Davis (Shannon) of Grovetown, GA, William Arron Davis (Rachel) of Booneville, IN, James L.C. Duke of NC; longtime family member, Jennifer Davis of TN; great nephews and niece, Dakota, Sierra, Gracie, Benji, Will, and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lehman W. Wilson and Mary Grace Justice Wilson; and sister, Patricia Ann Duke. The family would like to thank all of the staff of the Uptown VA Hospice Unit for all of the care they gave to Buddy. In honor of Buddy's wishes, his body was donated to Georgia Regents University Medical Center. The family will receive friends at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the home of his sister, Peggy Wilson Davis.
