HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Williams Jenkins, 98, wife of the late William Jenkins, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at The Place at Deans Bridge. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Atonement with Rev. Dr. Kurt Miller officiating, Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Jenkins, a graduate of Waynesboro High School, Waynesboro, Ga. and Paine College, was an elementary school teacher for 44 years in Burke and Richmond Counties. She began her teaching career in a one room school house, teaching grades 1-8. Teaching was her passion. Mrs. Jenkins was a former member of the Jones Grove Baptist Church, Rosier, GA. and later joined her family members at Church of the Atonement. She loved the church members and her students. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and gardening. Survivors are her daughter, Dorothy Jean (Louis) VanWright, Augusta; five grandchildren, Desiree Sapp, Atlanta, Tania Sapp, Augusta, Briana Boatwright, Macon, Ga., Brittany Rosette-Jones and Malik Rosette-Jones, Augusta; two great granddaughters, Kyla Barnwell, Atlanta, and Ta`nia Walker, Augusta; one great- great granddaughter, Taren- McKenzie Lee, Augusta; a sister, Julia Allen, Key West, Fl.; an aunt, Ada Washington, Augusta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA
