GRAHAM, N.C. - Mr. Winfred J. Brewer, 91, of Graham, died at his residence on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 9:53 p.m. He was a former resident of Belvedere, SC for 35 years before moving to North Carolina. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mildred Barnett Brewer and the son of Elbert Brewer and Josie Sykes Brewer, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard serving during World War II and retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Company. Winfred was of the Baptist faith and a Mason. Survivors include two daughters, Marian Brewer of the home and Pam Brewer of Martinez, GA; two sons, Billy Brewer of North Augusta, SC and Paul Brewer of Belvedere, SC; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Doris Davis, Mildred Blalock, Faye Isley and husband Donald and Kay Reynolds, all of Graham and Martha Cobb and husband Roy Lee of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Pickard and Virginia Davis and brother, Gene Edward Brewer. The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Rodger Roach. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
