While acting in "Ladies of the Jury" at Long Beach Community Theatre he met Phyllis Allen. The two were married in Long Beach on April 29, 1972 and enjoyed over 41 loving years of marriage. Upon graduation in 1979 he began his residency in Internal Medicine at Kern Medical Center becoming Chief Resident of Medicine in 1980. During his training at KMC Frank and Phyllis fell in love with the people of Bakersfield and he commenced his medical career as an Internist with Clinician's Medical Group. In 1989 he left his private practice and joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group as one of their first physicians in the Bakersfield area. He retired from active practice in 2004 because of his poor health, disappointing his many patients and colleagues. Along with his medical practice his other passions included his family, softball (he played for the Silver Streakers of NOR) and exploring the world and meeting and making many other friends around the country and the world. After retiring he traveled extensively in North America, Asia, South Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.
