Leo Vernon Johns 1937 - 2012 Leo Vernon Johns Was born in Williams, Oklahoma on June 30, 1937 As a young boy his family moved out to Buttonwillow, CA where he attended Taft High School, and then went on to Fresno State University. In 1958 he Married Betty Ann Watts in Shafter, CA. Seven years after completing his military tour of Korea he came back home to Taft, Ca where his son Craig was born. In 1968 the Family moved to Burbank, CA to the General Motors Training Center, Leo worked at the training center for about 2 years, and then transferred to AC Delco, where his territory covered California, Hawaii and Guam he retired after 13 years to return to Bakersfield to start Leo Johns Diesel Electric Company in 1982 and he finally retired from there in 2002. He was also involved with the Scottish right 3rd degree. Leo passed away on February 21, 2012 with a "Broken Heart" after the loss of his beautiful wife who preceded him in death also preceding him death are his parents Elva Rufus and Marie Johns. He is survived by his only son Craig Johns of Bakersfield. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Graveside Services will be held at West Side Cemetery District in Taft, Ca at 11:00am on Tuesday February 28, 2012 www.bakersfield.com/obits
