Michael Dwayne Bolinger 1966 - 2013 On June 9, 2013, Michael Dwayne Bolinger went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Michael was born on February 18, 1966 in Bakersfield California. After graduating with honors from Highland High School, he attended the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He was a member of Acacia Fraternity at Berkeley. He continued his education, receiving his Master's Degree with honors from California State University Sacramento in 1993 where he was a Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society member. Michael worked for the Department of Defense for 10 years as a contract specialist. He then worked for International Technologies which took him to Las Vegas. In 2002 he started his career in law enforcement as a Special Agent for the Secret Service, this resulted in him traveling throughout the USA and the world. In 2011 Michael transferred to the Bureau of Land Management as a Special Agent allowing him more time with his family. An avid hunter, outdoorsman, and a black belt in Kempo Karate, he was dedicated to maintaining peak physical condition assisted him in fighting his disease for a year and half. Michael is remembered by his wife, Kelley; his children, Bryce 17 and Berkeley 9; parents, Dwayne and Mary Bolinger; sister, Sheri Eckard and husband Travis and nieces Ireland and Addison Eckard; in-laws, friends and co-workers from around the country. His grandparents, Calvin and June Bolinger and Harold and Jewel Wilson were waiting for him in Heaven. "The courageous man is the man who forces himself, in spite of his fear, to carry on." G. Patton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas. A reception will immediately follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the UCLA Neuro-Oncology Center "in memory of Michael Bolinger."
