Bruce Hopkins Notice


Bruce Hopkins died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 7, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Barbara Hopkins, his darling daughters, Janet Hicks (her husband Kenny Hicks), Melissa Summerville (her husband Marty Summerville), Stephanie Vogt and his son Robert Conrad, and 9 precious grandchildren, Tara, Ryan and Maddy Summerville; Brad and Kevin Summerville: Gracie and Garett Hicks, Joel Vogt and Caleb Conrad. Bruce is survived by his 3 beloved brothers, Roy Caswell, Steven Caswell and Albert Caswell and his loving sister Sherry Newman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bruce proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the Operation Iraqi Freedom War. Bruce served in both the Army and Navy for 28 years. He received the following awards for his exemplary service; The Meritorious Service Medal; The Army Commendation Medal; The Good Conduct Medal; The Army Achievement Medal. Bruce and Barbara were a one of a kind couple. He was not only her husband and lover, but more importantly they were best friends. Family and friends will honor Bruce's life at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Monkton, 16924 York Rd. (York & Monkton Rds. - Hereford), Monkton on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM where a funeral service will begin 11:30 AM Sunday.
