Charles John Edward Heiser Notice

Charles John Edward Heiser, 91 nicknamed Charlie & Buddy, went to be with his Lord on August 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving daughters. He was a lifetime resident of Essex/Middle River MD. Buddy grew up on his Botzon family farm on Myrth & Clover Ave. in Essex. Charlie was the beloved son of Marie Botzon Heiser & Sister Whilamenia Horner. During WWII, Charlie worked at Glenn L. Martin Co. as a rocket engineer, where he met his wife Alice Henchliffe Heiser of 62 years. They were married in 1945 & had three girls, Susan, Cindy & Mary Beth. He also worked at NASA on the Mercury & Gemini space programs. Since he was devoted to his family & the space programs required traveling, he changed his career & worked for the Maryland Toll Facility where he was the inspector for the Key Bridge, Harbor Tunnel & Fort McHenry Tunnel. Charles was very active in community service during his life, along with his wife Alice. They created Hawthorne's Midthorne Park, volunteered with the Coast Guard Reserve, Middle River Baltimore County Recreation & Park & Hawthorn's Civic Association. He enjoyed shooting & was a lifetime member of Carney Rod & Gun Club, where he would shoot skeet & trap every Saturday. He also enjoyed gardening & traveling in his RV with his wife & nature. His greatest joy was his family. Charles leaves behind his two devoted daughters & their families, Cynthia Heiser Arnette Wilson, Mark Wilson & granddaughter Julia Arnette, Mary Elizabeth Heiser Pawling, John Pawling & grandchildren Charles & Olivia Heiser Pawling. Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A. 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at Route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.
