Dora Rytman

Notice Condolences

RYTMAN , Dora Dora Rytman, of West Hartford, CT and formerly of Preston, CT, wife of the late Julius Rytman, and Holocaust Survivor, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Hartford Hospital. She was a graduate of CT College and Brown University, where she earned her PhD in Russian Studies. She worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hartford and was also a lifelong Yiddish Professor. She served as a Docent at the Jewish Heritage Museum and was a life member of Hadassah. Dora is survived by her daughters Barbara Resnik (Allie), Mollie Grossman (John), Eileen Robbins(Richard); and by her grandchildren Jessica, Elliot,

Alissa, Richard, Peter, Joshua, Daniel, Rachel and

Emma. In addition to her husband Julius, she was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Borenstein.
Funeral Services are private for the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, New York, NY 10280 or to The Julius Rytman and Sharon Rytman Borenstein Library Fund c/o University of Hartford, Institutional Advancement, Attn.: Peter Congleton, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT 06117.
