Donald W. Jewett, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek.
Don was born June 9, 1923 in Albion, the son of Ellis and Rose (Trader) Jewett.
Following Don's high school graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving in World War II. On July 26, 1946 Don married the love of his life, the former Marian Lippen and together they had two children. He worked for 34 years at Eaton Manufacturing retiring in 1985 as manager of the accounts payable department.
He was a member of the Battle Creek Masonic Lodge #419 and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church. Don loved traveling throughout the United States, fishing and camping. Don and Marian enjoyed wintering in Davenport, Florida.
Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marian; son, Gary L. Jewett of Battle Creek; daughter, Debbie (Rick) Hoke of Nashville, Indiana; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home, 2838 Capital Avenue, S.W.
Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the funeral home with Reverend Kate Johnston officiating.
