George Milton Spriggs, Jr. Battle Creek George Milton Spriggs, Jr., 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Battle Creek VA Hospice. He was born June 16, 1922 in Battle Creek, the son of George and Herma (Sedorf) Spriggs, Sr. He married the late June Allwardt on October 2, 1948 in Battle Creek. George retired from Post Cereal after 35 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #54, DAV, and the National Association of Accountants. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a past Treasurer for the St. Elias Parish Council. He liked philately, history of the civil war, and music of the 40's such as Jazz and Big Band. He was drafted into the Army in November of 1942 and discharged June of 1945. He was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. While in the Army he received a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Bronze Stars and a Europe/Africa/Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon. He is survived by his daughter, Julia A. Spriggs and goddaughter, Frances O'Neil. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, June. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00-3:00 PM with a Panikhida service at 3:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church with The Very Rev. Fr. Lawrence Bacik officiating. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to St. Elias,
