Rhea Jane (Topliff) Carrier

Bedford, NH

Rhea Jane (Topliff) Carrier, 89 of Bedford, NH and formerly of Hudson, NH died Sunday May 12, 2013 at the Arbors of Bedford.

Rhea was born November 18, 1923 in Aurelius Twp., Michigan, where she lived all her school days on a farm outside of Eaton Rapids, MI.  She was the daughter of the late Carl Kiehm and Edna Blanche (Walton) Topliff.  A sister, Jean Drew also predeceased her.

Rhea was a graduate of Eaton Rapids H.S. and also Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in teaching early elementary education.  The following year, she married Leon Carrier on June 29, 1946 in Ingham Co., Michigan, and started her teaching career in the Battle Creek, MI system.  She retired from the Lakeview School System in 1983.  In Battle Creek, Rhea was a member if the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

She spent 20 years after retirement in Florida during the winters and summers at Tri Lakes Trails in Marshall, MI.  She and Leon returned to Battle Creek in 2002 and spent time over the years with their two daughters and their husbands and their two granddaughters.  In 2008, they moved to Hudson, NH and for the last two years resided at the Arbors of Bedford, NH.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Leon Carrier, of Bedford, NH and formerly of Hudson, NH: two daughters and two son-in-laws, Pamela Breniser and her husband Paul, of Hudson, NH, Susan Larner and her husband Joseph, of Burlington, MI: two granddaughters, Amanda Breniser, of Silver Spring, Maryland and Cassandra Breniser, of Somerville, MA: one brother and sister-in-law, Jerold Topliff and his wife Maxine, of Eaton Rapids, MI as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH  03064.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., immediately following visiting hours.   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rhea's loving memory to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Dr., Battle Creek, MI  49015 or to a . Private burial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in Ft.
