Samuel J. "Sam" Charameda

Samuel J. "Sam" Charameda, 80, died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Bronson Battle Creek. Samuel was born on March 7, 1933, in Albion, MI, the son of William R. and Julia M. (Klinkiewicz) Charameda. He had been a lifelong resident graduating from Battle Creek Central High School. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. On November 28, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Claris Knowles who survives. He was employed with Clark Equipment retiring after 30 years of service. He also worked at Oakland Hills Golf Course for 11 years.
Surviving is a son, Sam (Janis) Charameda of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Scott (Aleisa) Charameda of Battle Creek and Erik (Anna) Charameda of Gilbert, AZ; great grandchildren, Mareisa, Mitchell, Andrew, Zander, Taylor and Brandon. They also had a son, Edward, who along with his wife, Penny preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Our hearts are so sad to have lost the most wonderful father and father-in-law anyone could wish for. He is now at peace and he will be forever in our hearts. We miss him so much.

Although I have not been in Louie's for a couple years, I always loved seeing his smiling face. He called me "Miss Kellogg" as I was always on my way to work. He was a sweet man with a friendly heart. Prayers being sent to the family through this very difficult time. God Bless.
