Shirley Louise (Pearce) Gorham-Tanksley Shirley Louise (Pearce) Gorham-Tanksley, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. She lived most of her life in Battle Creek, working and raising her four children. Surviving are her sons Tom (Janie) Gorham of Caledonia, MI, Ken Gorham of Middleville, MI; Jim (Wendy) Gorham of Hastings, MI and daughter Ann (Brian) McCarthy of Bay City, MI. Shirley was preceded in death by Royal Gorham and Robert Tanksley. She has eight grandkids, five great grand kids and one great-great grandson. Not too many people have a compassion for Armadillos, but Shirley did. Even belonging to the "National Armadillo Society", where she was a silver card carrying member. Per Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at the Battle Creek Memorial Cemetery. Memorials could be directed to Spectrum Hospice in Grand Rapids or the Breast Cancer Society.
