Garold E. Flock, 90
Garold E. Flock, age 90, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Gassville Therapy and Living Center in Gassville, Arkansas.
He was born December 1, 1923, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Ross Edward and Minerva Garner Flock. On January 30, 1947, he married Ethel L. Layfield in Yellville, Arkansas. Mr. Flock was a United States Coast Guard veteran of World War II, and worked for General Motors in Kansas City, Kansas for 30 years. After retiring he moved back to the Twin Lakes area and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Ethel L. Flock: of the home; two daughters: Peggy Latham: Kansas City, Kansas and Sandra (Richard) Shoras: Mountain Home; a sister: Sharon Johnson: Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren: Donald (April) Vossmer: Mountain Home, U.S. Army First Sgt. Bryan (Tabitha) Cook: Ft. Hood, Texas and Tiffany (Chris) Saric: Mountain Home; three great-grandchildren: Emilee (Ron) Bata, Justin Vossmer and Riley Cook; one great-great-granddaughter: Baylee Bata; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert Flock.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Roller Chapel with Reverend Jimmie Snow officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery near Buford, Arkansas. Ozark VFW Post #3246 will provide military honors.
