Gordon G. Pierce, 80
Funeral services for Gordon Pierce of Mountain Home will be at Roller Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., with Frank Daniels officiating. Followed by an Elks Lodge #1714 service. Gordon passed away February 21, 2014. Gordon was born February 12, 1934 in New Castle, Indiana, the son of Fred & Mabel Pierce. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He was employed by a large Toledo, Ohio based glass company in several production management positions before retiring after 30 plus years of service.
He was a Korea War Air Force Veteran during which he flew in several missions transporting troops and supplies. While stationed at Point Mugu Naval Station in California he flew in several missions during the early missile development programs. All of his missions were flown in the C46 Commando.
He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #1714, VFW, Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Among other things he loved boating with friends and playing pool.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Diane E. Pierce of Mountain Home and daughter Gaye Ann McCloud of North Carolina, step daughter Tammy Parker and son in law Barry Parker, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mable Pierce, son Mark Pierce and sister Wanda Nelson.
