James A. Darr, 66

James A. Darr, born to Wilson and Mary Darr in Somerset, PA on September 26, 1947 went to the Lord on December 6, 2013. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Billie Sue (Miller) Darr of Yellville, Arkansas, beloved sister Carol and brother-in-law Stephen Olejniczak of Shorewood, IL, brother Barry Darr of California, and cherished mother-in-law Margaret Thompson of Craig, CO. He is also survived by brother's and sister-in-law's Jim and Sue Miller of Spring, TX, Marilee and Russ Bell, of Maricopa, AZ, Jerry and JoAnn Miller of Grand Junction, CO and Chuck Thompson of Craig, CO. In addition, Jim will be missed by many special nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Mary Darr.

Jim spent many years at Speed School District in Chicago Heights, IL as a Maintenance/Building Supervisor in which he retired from in 2001. During his retirement, he volunteered his time as the Construction Superintendent during the building of the Christian Church of Mountain Home, AR, where he took special care and pride looking after the Lord's House. He was also a volunteer fireman of the Pine Mountain Fire Department, a member of Elks Lodge #1714, and a Deacon of the Christian Church of Mountain Home.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending his days with his wife, family and friends. He loved boating and was an avid fisherman. He was also known for his talent in woodworking and for his great array of handy man skills. Many people took joy and appreciation from his work in numerous projects. This very kind and selfless man will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions and memorials may be made to the Christian Church of Mountain Home Building (1365 Eastside Centre Ct, Mountain Home, AR 72653) and/or playground fund, or your choice of charity.

Visitation will be held at Roller Funeral Home , 25 CR 27, Mountain Home, AR on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 1:00-9:00 PM. The family will be in attendance from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place at Roller Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM.
