William Junior Burnell, 90
A Memorial Service for William Junior Burnell of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating.
William passed away June 23, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90. He was born September 7, 1922, in Washburn, Illinois, the son of William and Irene Cook Burnell, Sr. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, James and Verna Cook. He married Angeline Burnell on June 10, 1972, at Aurora, Illinois and worked as a meat processor for Wilson Foods. William was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. William lived in Mountain Home since 1972, moving from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a 50 year member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
William is survived by his wife, Angeline Burnell of Mountain Home, AR, life-long close friend, Dave Preston of Oklahoma, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncle, two sisters, and one brother.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
