Carolyn Jane Casburn Miller, 78, of Orange passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. After a long, courageous battle with cancer, she went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband, Ted. She was born in Woodville, Texas on March 4, 1936 to parents Edward Walter Casburn and Verda Blanche (Busselle) Casburn. She had lived in the Orange area since 1959 and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she was the piano accompanist and member of the choir. She was a graduate of Banquete High School and Stephen F. Austin University where she received her Masters of Music Education. She began her career as a public school teacher, but her love of music led her to a lifetime career of teaching private piano lessons to hundreds of aspiring musicians. The only thing that paralleled her love of music was the love of her family. The joy she got from her husband, children and grandchildren was immeasurable and she was the perfect example of a Christian lady who instilled in them her values, morals, and impeccable character. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert E. Miller, Jr.; & parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Casburn. She is survived by daughters Tana Thompson and husband, Tommy of Orange, Terri and husband Dr. Fred Brent of Alvin, TX.; son, Trey Miller and wife, Cathy of Orange; brother, Dr. Edwin Casburn and wife Linda of San Antonio; uncle, Thomas Busselle; brother- in-law Charles Miller and wife Laurie of San Antonio; sister-in-law Robbie See of Kentucky; grandchildren, Tayler, Tiffani, and Tara Thompson, Tyler Miller, Austin, Alex, and Abby Brent. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 5:00 t o 8:00 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 502 N. 6th St. Orange, Texas. Condolences may be sent to the family at
