Gladys Best Riley, 80, of Woodville passed away peacefully unto the Lord on November 28, 2013. Born February 7, 1933 in the Antioch Community outside of Woodville, Tx to the late Hill and Edna Bobbitt Best, she lived in Nederland for many years before moving back to Woodville in 1985. She and her husband, Pat A. Riley, Sr were the former co-owners of Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. Gladys was active in many organizations both in the Mid County area and in Woodville. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Woodville, Order of the Eastern Star Woodville Chapter #462 in Woodville, Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society, Red Hat Society Woodville Chapter and a member of the Cheerful Aires, a singing ensemble who performed for many years in the Golden Triangle at church and community activities. She was a member of the Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in Woodville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and best friend, Pat A. Riley, Sr.; brother, Kenneth Best and an infant sister. Gladys is survived by her loving family, sons, Pat A. Riley, Jr. of Tyler County and Terry W Riley and wife, Melissa of Woodville; daughter, JoEllen Miller of Seabrook; grandchildren, Mila Miller, Holly Hicks and husband, Clyde, Teri Lynn Riley and Cody Minter Riley; great grandchildren, Mikal Miller and Cadance A. Hicks; and many other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 2 pm at the Antioch Cemetery near Woodville with Brother Chad Barnes officiating. A reception will be held at 3 pm at the Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in Woodville. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. @
