Henry Palmer Hall of San Antonio died peacefully at home on Feb. 9, 2013. He was born in Beaumont to Eunice Horn Hall and Jack Hall on Oct. 1, 1942. He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Stephen, and a large and loving extended family. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marian Hall Springer, and his brother James Hall. Palmer graduated from French High School and Lamar University. After serving as a Vietnamese linguist in the U.S. Army, he earned a masters degree in Library Science and a doctorate in English from the University of Texas at Austin. He spent his professional life at St. Mary's University in San Antonio where he taught English and directed the Blume Academic Library. A gifted poet, Palmer was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters 2005. Palmer was a loving family man, a talented academic and an avid golfer. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 11, 2013, at Assumption Chapel on St. Mary's University campus. ROSARY MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2013 6:00 P.M.
