Jack Munson, 82, of Beaumont, passed away to be with the Lord, on December 31, 2013. He was born in Port Arthur, on September 26, 1931, and lived in Beaumont most of his life. Jack graduated from Beaumont High School in 1950 and attended Lamar University. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served with the Combat Engineers. Jack received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling. He was a devoted family man to his wife, children, and grandchildren. His love for God, family and friends endured through his last days. Jack retired from Bayer Corporation as a Staff Engineer and Project Manager. He is preceded in death by his father, John Peter Munson; mother, Margaret Roena Munson; sister, Ruth Adriane Meads; and son, Douglas Carl Munson. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Lyndall Munson; two daughters, Jackie Lynn Suarez of Houston and Lyndall Darlene Armstrong and her husband, Michael Lloyd Armstrong of Thornton, Colorado; granddaughters, Chelsea Lynn Suarez, Morgan Lyndall Armstrong, and Kaylee Marie Suarez; grandson, Cody Michael Armstrong; and nephews and nieces. His memorial service, including full Military Honors, will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Calder Baptist Church, 1005 North 11th Street, in Beaumont, with The Reverend Dr. James Fuller presiding, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. After the service, a committal of his cremated body will be held at 1:30 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calder Baptist Church, 1005 North 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701 or a Cancer research of your choice.
