James Tegart Brown, Sr. James Tegart Brown, Sr., 95, of Kountze, died Monday, October 14, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, he was born on August 6, 1918, to Louie Catherine Tegart Brown and Robert Arthur Brown. Tegart was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II and retired with Monroe, a Division of Litton Industries as district manager. He was a member of Pine Lodge #642 A.F. and A.M. and taught Sunday school many years at Hwy. 326 Worship Center, formerly Little Rock Assembly. Survivors include his sons, James Tegart Brown, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Silsbee; and Robert Garth Brown and his wife, Jerrie, and John Curtis Brown, all of Kountze; sister, Beatrice Briceno of Kirbyville; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lessie; grandson, Curtis Brown; two brothers; and four sisters. A gathering of Mr. Brown's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Broussard's, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Kountze.
