Joe Mack Glasscock, 91, of Chester, passed away, Monday, February 17, 2014, at Memorial Health System of East Texas Hospital in Lufkin, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery near Chester. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Joe was born December 25, 1922, to Joe Shiloh & Cora Elizabeth Phillips Glasscock in Livingston, Texas. He was a vocational agriculture teacher for over 38 years, at both Chester I.S.D. and Woodville I.S.D. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University and was a US Army WWII veteran, before marrying the love of his life, Eugenia Berry Glasscock. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eugenia Glasscock, on October 20, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Wilson & husband, Walt of Barnum; sister, Sybil Berry & husband, Todd of Canton; granddaughter, Susan Cotton & husband, Lance of College Station; grandson, Army SGT Joseph Wilson of Colorado Springs, CO; and great grandson, Joe Cotton of College Station. At this very moment Mr. Joe is baiting a hook on a lake somewhere in heaven and I am sure they are biting!!
