William Edward Corie, 85, of Nederland, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Cypress Glen East Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Port Arthur. He was born on April 13, 1928, in Anacoco, Louisiana, to Vida Fancher Corie and Elias Corie, and had been a longtime resident of the area. William was a United States Army Air Corps veteran and he was a mechanic with Texaco retiring after thirty-five years of employment. Survivors include his wife, whom he was married to for sixty-eight years, Carrie Corie of Nederland; sons, Steven Corie of Dallas and Kimble Corie and his wife, Martha, of Galveston; and grandchildren, Dylan Corie of Galveston, and Ryin Corie and Tyler Corie, both of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Solomon Corie and Raymond Corie. A gathering of Mr. Corie's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street, Port Neches.
