William Herbert Ayers, Jr., 82 of Ashland passed away from Multiple System Atropy (Shy-Drager) on Jan. 20, 2013. Bill Jr. was born on May 23, 1930 in Bedford and was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Sr. and Lilly B. Ayers and his sister Sue Dick. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Gladys Loving Ayers; his sons William H. III, David M., Edward R., Robert K. and John B.; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren. The Memorial Service was held on Jan. 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
