Benedict "Ben" Kaminski, 87, of Granite City, Ill., born July 25, 1925, in Madison, Ill., died at 10:06 p.m. Sun. June 16, 2013 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, Ill.
Ben served during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed gardening and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. In his younger years, he liked weightlifting and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth, nee Perotka, Kaminski; sisters, Antoinette, Rosalie, Elizabeth, Francis and Marsella; and brothers, Walter Jr., John, Daniel, Tom, David and Glen.
Surviving are his sister, Charlotte Gotsa of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Anna Kaminski of Granite City, Ill.; nephews, Randy (Donna) Kaminski of Granite City, Ill., David (Lori) Kaminski of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; nieces, Linda Kaminski of Granite City, Ill., Jean Kaminski of Collinsville, Ill., Rosalie (Renee) Lopez of Imperial, Mo., Karen (Troy) McIlroy of Granite City, Ill., and Kimberly (Kevin) Kaminski-Shetterly of Portland, Ore.; nine great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nieces and nephew.
