Clarence Boyd

Clarence O. "Fuzzy" Boyd, 82, of Pontoon Beach, Ill., born June 2, 1931, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Clarence served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Granite City Steel in 1994, after working for 44 years, and was a member of the Community Bible Church in Belleville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese Driesner, whom he married March 29, 1986, in Granite City, Ill; parents, Clyde O. and Dorothy, nee Moser, Boyd; and two sisters, Doris Wright and Emily Raines.

Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (Charles) Hedler of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Robert D. (Elsa) Boyd of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; three grandchildren, Samantha Hedler, Gregory Hedler and Lyndsay Boyd; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Snider of Staunton, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory in Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
