Delmar R. Tribout, 88, of Tamms, Ill., born April 4, 1925, in Belleville, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at his residence.
Delmar was a boiler fireman at the Stagg Brewery in Belleville, Ill., for 42 years and a member of Villa Ridge Baptist Church, Villa Ridge, Ill. Delmar served in the U.S. Army during World War II, European Theatre, landed on Normandy Beach, earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a loving husband and father. He loved to fish and ride around the lake with his dog, Cindy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, nee Dula, Tribout, who died Oct. 31, 1987; his second wife, Doris, nee Wise, Keck, whom he married on Sept. 25, 1996, in Belleville, Ill., and who died March 12, 2005; a son, Larry Tribout, who died Oct. 22, 2011; a daughter, Dee Ann Tribout, who died Dec. 12, 2011; his parents, Herbert S. and Freida, nee Wagner, Tribout; and a brother, August Tribout, who died Oct. 9, 2012.
Surviving are his son, Terry (Nancy) Tribout of Cahokia, Ill.; three stepchildren, Robyn (Harry) Swan, Terry Keck and Edward Keck; three grandchildren, Ian Tribout, Danielle Tribout and Nicole (Keith) Smith; three great-grandchildren, Killian Tribout, Rylee Smith, Bryce Smith; and his sister, Carolina DaRougna.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, Ill.
Funeral: Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Ill.
