Dorothy Larkin

Dorothy M. Larkin, nee Matejka, 90, of Belleville, Ill., born Wednesday, Nov. 14, 1923, in East Saint Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.

Dorothy was a retired grade school teacher for Immaculate Conception and Blessed Sacrament Schools and worked at the Circuit Clerks Office at St. Clair County Court House. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill., St. Clair County Women's Club and was a graduate of St. Teresa's Academy 1942 and a member of the S.T.A. Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Larkin Jr.; and parents, Stanley John and Edna L., nee Rehg, Matejka.

Surviving are her children, John S. (Lynn) Larkin of Rockford, Ill., Patricia A. Larkin of Belleville, Ill., Kevin M. (Kim) Larkin of Ellisville, Mo., Thomas M. Larkin of Swansea, Ill., and Timothy M. (Trish) Larkin of Le Roy, Ill.; grandchildren, Barbara E. Larkin of Chicago, Ill., Timothy P. Larkin of Ellisville, Mo., Kelly M. Larkin of Ellisville, Mo., Maura Larkin of Le Roy, Ill., and Marisa Larkin of Le Roy, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Msgr. Jack McEvilly officiating. Per her request her body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.
