Floyd L. Rogier Jr., 82, of Highland, Ill., born Jan. 7, 1931, in Streator, Ill., died at 10:38 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, Ill.
Mr. Rogier was a 1948 graduate of McCray-Dewey High School, Troy, Ill. He joined the U.S. Navy with four years of active combat duty during the Korean War. In 1954 he began working for civil service at Scott Air Force Base and in 1964 transferred to St. Louis Army Electronics Command and retired in 1986. Floyd enjoyed travelling, fishing, hunting, building bird houses and following the Crazy Horse Memorial sculpture in South Dakota.
Mr. Rogier was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, (past consistory president, former choir member), the Highland Rotary Club (member since 1986, past president 1992-1993 and 1998-1999, Paul Harris Fellow), Highland Area Community Foundation (Sterring Committee, first president/director emeritus 1999 (1994-present), Faith Countryside Homes (executive director/board member), Highland Chamber of Commerce (volunteer, Homer Poss Lifetime Achievement), St. Joseph Hospital Advisory Board, Highland Historical Society, Meals on Wheels volunteer and a VFW Post 5694 life member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Floyd L. and Ada M., nee Dawson, Rogier Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Eunice D., nee Kaltenbacher, Rogier, whom he married on April 14, 1956, at Pocahontas Methodist Church in Pocahontas, Ill.; brothers, Robert J. (Diana) Rogier of Troy, Ill., and Richard D. (Jean) Rogier of Glen Carbon, Ill.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Knabel of Highland, Ill.; nephews and nieces, Ron (Jo Ellen) Knabel of Greeneville, Tenn., Patricia (Mike) Maroon of Highland, Ill., Judy ("Butch") Kuhn of Trenton, Ill., Barb (Ken) Randle of Alhambra, Ill., Richard (Karen) Rogier, Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., Rene (Kent) Robinette of Edwardsville, Ill., Rhonda (Norman) Fohne of Troy, Ill., Michael (Dynette) Rogier of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Jennifer (Tom) King of St. Jacob, Ill.; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill., and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Evangelical United Church of Christ, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill officiating. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Old Ripley, Ill.
