Juanita Huddleston

Juanita I. Huddleston, nee Beever, 80, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sept. 14, 1933, in Wichita, Kan., died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at her residence.

When she was in high school Juanita received an award from the American Legion. She was a retired customer service rep from the Kroger Grocery Co., where she belonged to the Retail Clerks Local 881. Juanita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a life long member of the Collinsville VFW Post 5691 Ladies Auxiliary where she was the treasurer and held several other offices.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" Huddleston, whom she married on Sept. 12, 1949, and who passed away in 2004; her parents, Elmo E. and Hazel, nee Freisen, Beever; sisters, Janet Johnson, Dixie L. Beever, Sandra S. Kassly, Rose Marie Beever and Rosa Ann Beever; and her brother, Gary E. Beever.

Surviving are her children, David E. (Mollie) Huddleston of Collinsville, Ill., Rick A. (Jeannie) Huddleston of East Alton, Ill., Michael E. (Vicki) Huddleston of Alhambra, Ill., Dennis E. (Lori) Huddleston of Collinsville, Ill., and Karen (Mike) Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Barbara J. Kentch of Festus, Mo., Jean A. Myrick of St. Ann, Mo., and Ellen Cruce of Highland, Ill.; brothers, Jack E. Beever of Dupo, Ill., Elmo "Butch" Beever of Golconda, Ill., Larry A. Beaver of Golconda, Ill., and Douglas H. Beever of Pinckneyville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
