Lester Beaumont

Lester "Les" W. Beaumont, 89, of Swansea, Ill., born Thursday, Feb. 7, 1924, in Belleville, Ill., entered into eternal life Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014.

Les retired from Southwestern and Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 38 years of service. He was a Charter Member of Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, Ill., and member of the Belleville Moose Lodge 12 and C.W.A. Les was a World War II and Korean Conflict veteran serving in the Navy and Coast Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl A. and Lily, nee Lowe, Beaumont.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Ramona, nee Mueller, Beaumont; daughters, Pennie McLaughlin of St. Louis, Mo., and Debbie Payeur of O'Fallon, Mo.; grandchildren, Adam Kolakowski, (Amber Hagan), Katherine (Donnie) Daubert, Megan (Todd) Anderson, and Jonathan McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Jackson Anderson and Carson Anderson; five step great-grandchildren, Chase Anderson, Ian Anderson, Nyssa Daubert, Bret Daubert, and Zakariah Daubert; and special friends, Jay Bruns, Mike Payeur, Rodney Rogger, Terry Bynum, and the Harter and Munier families; and his beloved Maltese, Bunni.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Pierce officiating. Private Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
