Marcellee "Grandma" Meravy, nee Hermann, 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., formerly of East St. Louis, Ill., having lovingly completed her work here on earth, was peacefully called home by her beloved Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at her residence.
Marcellee lived, she loved, and she laughed.
Her passion and gift was a piano and accordion teacher of 75 years. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and also loved sharing her devout faith with her Bible study class. She was also a proud member of Elks Lodge 664 ladies auxiliary and loved to attend LIFT to see her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Meravy; and her parents.
Surviving is her loving son, John Meravy of Fairview Heights, Ill.
Grandma adored and was the most loving grandmother to Lynnette (Jamie) Madura of York, Pa., Virginia (Kris) Trimmer of York, Pa., Jodi (Patrick) Gleeson of Belleville, Ill., Chrissy (James) Johnson of O'Fallon, Ill., Patty Meravy of Collinsville, Ill., and Kelly (Felicia) Willis of Fairview Heights, Ill.
Grandma lived for every visit with her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jakob Madura of York, Pa., Madelin Trimmer of York, Pa., Patrick, Caitlin and Ella Gleeson of Belleville, Ill., Braden and Boston Johnson of O'Fallon, Ill., and Ayden Lyles of Collinsville, Ill.
Marcellee was a mother figure to Anna Fink of Belleville, Ill., a loving aunt of Margie Galle of Belleville, Ill., Francis Meravy of Johnstown Ohio, Marianne (Paul) Schmitt of Fairview Heights, Ill., Thomas (Debbie) Galle of St. Charles, Mo., George Galle and Jeff (Theresa) Galle. She was proud to be a great-aunt to Jennifer Galle of Chicago, Leslie (Brian) Roseland of St Charles, Mo., Andrew Meravy of Westerville, Ohio, Meredith Meravy of Chicago, Ill., Ashley (Andrew) Borawski of Swansea, Ill., Alex Schmitt of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Jessica and Nick Galle. Marcellee was a great-great-aunt to Isabel Borawski and Grant Roseland and cherished every time she held them in her arms.
Marcellee had a dynamic and energetic personality. Her wide and varied circle of friends and music students exemplified her zest for life.

Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, from Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
