Richard Earl Woods, 88, of Caseyville, Ill., born Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1925, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Memorial Care Center in Belleville, Ill.
Richard worked as a clerk for the railroad for 35 years and was a World War II Air Force veteran. Dad loved his crossword puzzles, collecting model cars, fishing and riding on his riding lawn mower.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Velma Mae, nee Skidmore, Woods; parents, Earl B. and Clara, nee Tessmer, Woods; and a sister, Virginia Thouvenin.
Surviving are his daughters, Suzanne and Patricia Woods, both of Caseyville, Ill., and Peggy Boze of Swansea, Ill.; brother, James Woods; grandson, Arthur E. (Nikki) Boze III; great-grandchildren, Alex and Clayton Boze

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. There will be a private interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
