Russel Hoff

Russel P. Hoff, 90, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 6, 1923, in Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Hoff was the long-time owner and operator of Russ's Barber Shop in Belleville, Ill. He was a member of the Southside Fast Pitch Softball League. Russ was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served on the USS West Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Mathilda, nee Seiler, Hoff.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Gloria, nee Endres, Hoff, whom he married on July 10, 1943; four sons, Michael G. (Mary Hollenkamp) Hoff of Millstadt, Ill., Thomas A. Hoff of Omaha, Neb., Joseph R. Hoff of Springfield, Ill., and David S. (Joyce) Hoff of Dunedin, Fla.; a daughter, Jean E. Cudney of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Gregory, Todd, Thomas Jr., Elizabeth, Sam, and Jamie Lynn; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the funeral home with Msgr. John Myler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
