Vivian M. Taft, nee Morris, 80, of Cahokia, Ill., born Oct. 29, 1932, in Williamstown, Mo., died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Taft was retired from Sylvia's Hat Co. in St. Louis, Mo. She was a retired member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Cahokia Volunteer Fire Department and was a former member of the Women of the Moose of Cahokia, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Taft; her son, Terry Taft; her daughter, LaDonna Chester; a grandson, Robert Harmon; and her parents, Elmer and Velma Morris.
Surviving are her children, Ronald (Nancy) Taft of Serena, Ill., Tracy (Val) Nordike of Columbia, Ill., and Shannon (Peggy) Taft of Colorado; a brother, Gary (Christina) Morris of Farmington, Mo.; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Duncan of St. Louis, Mo.; two half brothers, Ferris and Billy Sylvester; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Clark officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
