William "Dave" Conner Jr., 85, of Shiloh, Ill., born Nov. 3, 1928, in Falling Rock, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was a veteran and proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force then retired from Civil Service after an additional 20 plus years. He was a member of Gideon's International and Shiloh United Methodist Church. Dave was an avid fisherman and loved watching sporting events especially those which his children and grandchildren participated in. He was their biggest fan.

Surviving are his adoring wife of nearly 56 years, Carol Jean, nee Wert, Conner; four children, Michael (Pam) Conner of Wylie, Texas, Catherine (Chris) Campbell of Lenexa, Kan., Mary Beth (Tom) Krebs of Shiloh, Ill., and Daniel (Kim) Conner of O'Fallon, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Conner, Chase and Colin Campbell, Keenan and Jeremiah Krebs, and Reid, Tyler, and Megan Conner; and a brother, John Conner of Jacksonville, Fla.
