Bill G. Trames, 78, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on June 5, 2014. Bill was born and raised in Bellingham, WA along with his older brother Tom and younger sister Tula. He graduated from Bellingham High and went on to Western Washington University before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1955. In 1959, he married Sophia Karanson of Everett, WA, moved to Bakersfield, CA and they raised two children, Craig and Michele. In Bakersfield, Bill began a long career in heavy construction. After stints at several companies working as a Safety Supervisor on regional projects, Bill's work with Fluor Construction took him to Southern California, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and a hairs breath away from moving to Iran. Moving back to California in 1979, Bill and his family eventually settled down in Concord, where he worked for the City of Martinez. Bill had a life long love of fishing, photography, motorcycles, music and the SF 49'ers. He often took motorcycle road trips around Northern California and the Northwest with his friends. Bill and his longtime companion, best friend, and fellow 49'er fan, Connie Rodrigues, enjoyed their time together driving to Point Reyes and Sonoma and visiting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Mary Trames, and his brother Tom Trames. Bill is survived by his son, Craig (Cindy) Trames of Portland, OR and daughter, Michele (Ryan) Douglas, of Portland, OR, grandchildren Arianna and Athena Trames, Tobias and Zachary Douglas, sister Tula Trames of Bellingham, WA, Connie Rodrigues of Concord, CA and former spouse Sophia Trames Kennedy of Beaverton, OR as well as many family and friends.
