Shirley Greenstreet grew up in Olympia, Washington, the only child of Lucien and Faye Simon, where she excelled in her studies and clarinet performance. She graduated from the University of Washington, and was a member of Wesley Club before marrying Vernon Greenstreet in 1955. They lived and raised their three children in Oak Harbor where Shirley taught clarinet and piano, and served in the Washington State Music Teachers Association. Shirley and Vernon were active in the Methodist and Episcopal churches. They moved to Bellingham in 1996 where Shirley expressed her faith at St. Paul's and her commitment to bringing opportunities for education to others through the AAUW and PEO. Shirley is survived by her husband, Vernon, her three children, Karlin, Mark and John; their spouses, and six grandchildren, Laura, Christopher, Brianna, Jennifer, Alexis, and Joseph. She enjoyed music, cards, reading and traveling. Shirley and Vernon enjoyed playing recorder-organ duets through her final days. Shirley was always positive and encouraging to those around her. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 9th at 3pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bellingham. The family asks that donations be made to Whatcom Hospice as a thankyou for their loving care of their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Arrangements, online obituary, and guestbook by:
