Mary E. Snyder

1928-2013 Mary E. Snyder, 84, a resident of Main St in Bennington, Vt., died Friday January 18, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born in Broadalbin, New York September 14, 1928. Mary was the daughter of the late Frank and Eliza (Noonan) Eaton. Mary received her education in the Broadalbin schools.

In 1947 she married William Rowe in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Mr. Rowe died October 22, 1964. In 1968 she married Ralph Snyder Jr. in Williamstown, Mass. Mr. Snyder died October 7, 1986.

In earlier years Mary was employed at several local mills including the EZ Mill, Thomson Manufacturing and Cornish Wire. She later worked at the Union Carbide Corporation from which she retired in 1991.

Mary enjoyed crocheting and puzzle books.

Survivors include her children, William Rowe and his wife Barbara of Atlanta, Georgia, Jacquelin Prue of Bennington, Catherine Cutler of Bennington and Keith Rowe and his wife Julia of Homestead, Florida; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a brother William Eaton of Midland, Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son Richard Rowe, two sisters, Pauline Palmer and Gladys Stangle and a brother Roy Eaton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday January 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bennington officiating.

The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday January 20 from 3 to 6 p.m.
