Barton D. Holsborg
1941 - 2013 DALTON Barton David Holsborg, 71, of 112 Kimberly Drive, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers, N.Y., on Aug. 31, 1941, a son of Oscar and Ida Samuels Holsborg, he was a graduate of high school and college in Yonkers.
He had served with the
United States Marine Corps
Mr. Holsborg was employed by General Electric Company as a security guard for many years. He had also been a
He and his late wife had been proprietors of Greenridge Video in Dalton.
He was a member of the Dalton American Legion where he called bingo. He also enjoyed bingo and bowling, and traveling and cruising.
Mr. Holsborg's wife, the former Maria Toolan, whom he married May 14, 1977, died March 3, 2010.
He is survived by two daughters, Kellie A. Holsborg, and her companion, David Hubbard, of Pittsfield, and Leah A. Holsborg of Peru; two brothers, Lawrence Holsborg and his wife, Hazel, of Miami, Fla., and Arthur Holsborg and his wife, Ethel, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Brianna, Sarah, Kiersten, and Brett, and two great-grandchildren, Alliah and Aerie.
Mr. Holsborg was pre-deceased by two sisters, Shirley Holsborg and Wilma Langevin.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Barton David Holsborg will be held Monday, March 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kellie A. Holsborg to help defray final expenses.
