George "Dick" LeClair

1927 - 2013 PITTSFIELD George H. "Dick" LeClair, 86, of 1 Savoy St., died Friday morning, May 10, 2013, at home.

He was born in Burlington, Vt., on April 20, 1927, the son of George and Alice Fox LeClair. Mr. LeClair moved to Pittsfield with his parents at a young age and graduated from St. Joseph High School.

Mr. LeClair worked for the Pittsfield Fire Department for 20 years and later worked at the former Brodie Mountain Ski area.

He was a Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was also the flank owner of the USS Boxer.

Mr. LeClair was a lifetime member of the VFW post 448, a member of the American Legion post 68 and a member of the Massachusetts Firefighter Association.

Dick was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a communicant of St. Mark Church.

He leaves his wife, the former Evelyn A. Nardin, whom he married 64 years ago in Pittsfield. He is also survived by his three sons, Richard LeClair of Pittsfield, Paul LeClair of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Thomas LeClair and his wife, Suzanne, of Becket; five grandchildren, Richard R. LeClair Jr., Marcel LeClair, Madeleine LeClair, Jessica Nimmons and Lucas Nimmons and a great- grandchild, Silas LeClair.

FUNERAL NOTICE: At Mr. LeClair's request, all funeral services will be private.
