John A. Kilfeather

1946 - 2013 LANESBOROUGH John A. Kilfeather, 66, of 15 Lacona St., died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at home.

Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 1, 1946, the son of John J. and Charlotte Warner Kilfeather, he attended St. Joseph High School.

After High School, John enlisted in the Marine Corps. and was a Vietnam Veteran. He received several service medals including the Purple Heart Medal.

Mr. Kilfeather worked for many years at Berkshire Medical Center as a fireman in the boiler room. He had previously worked at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant and also at the former Hillcrest Hospital in the boiler room.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 68, the VFW Post 448, the Marine Corps League, the Lions Club and was also a member of the Polish Falcons.

His wife, the former Elizabeth J. Norton, whom he married Aug. 19, 1967, in St. Charles Church, died May 18, 1998.

He leaves two sisters, Margaret White of Hunlock Creek, Pa., and Maureen Fraval of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Thomas Kilfeather of Pittsfield, and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for John A. Kilfeather will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, with the Rev. Michael Lillpopp, Parochial Vicar of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, May 3, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m.
