William J. Curley
NAPLES, FL William J. Curley, 84, husband and best friend of Theresa (Burke) Curley, passed away on October 11, 2013. He was a resident of Naples, Fla., and Lenox. Bill was born in Lee, the son of James F. and Helena (Carr) Curley. A graduate of Lee High and St. Mary's, he served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge he and Theresa settled in Lenox where they lived for 46 years. He joined General Electric in Pittsfield, and held various managerial positions in the Plastics Business Group. He retired in 1989 as manager of Purchasing, Facilities and Services. While living in Lenox he was active in the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight. He was also elected first President of the Lenox High School Booster Club. Bill enjoyed golf. He was a former member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, MA and the Glades Country Club of Naples. He was club champion at the Glades in 1997. He scored the second double eagle of his career in the championship. Besides his loving wife of 62 years, he leaves three sons who he loved, Bruce of Englewood, Fla., Edward of East Greenbush, NY and Stephen of Lenox, and his granddaughter, Lisa Curley of Lee. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, James J. of Pittsfield, and two sisters, Katherine Pirzl of Lenoir, N.C., and Helen Kostyun of Lenox Dale, Mass. Bill was a parishioner of St. Ann's Church in Naples and St. Ann's Church in Lenox. Services will be held in Lenox at a later date.
