DiBONA, Anthony J., Sr. Of Cumberland, RI, 82, formerly of Newton, MA, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the The Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, RI. He was the husband of Anna (Martone) DiBona. Born in Newton, MA he was the son of the late Americo and Michelina (Lipoma) DiBona. He resided in Cumberland for the past 5 years, previously residing in Massachusetts and Maryland. Mr. DiBona was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Among many interests, Mr. DiBona loved to play golf, spend time with his grandchildren; as well as spend time with his grand-dog Darka. He leaves his children, CDR Anthony J. DiBona, USN, Ret. and his wife Mary Ellen (McCarthy) DiBona of Cumberland and CDR Nancy Shank, USN, Ret and her husband, Capt Michael Shank, USN, Ret. of Annapolis, MD; one sister, Ruth Pini of Newton, MA; five grandchildren, LT Christopher Shank USN, Amanda Shank, Gina DiBona, Lisa DiBona and James DiBona; as well as his large extended family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
