DINAH L. DANSEYAR Obituary
Danseyar, Dinah L.
Of Jamaica Plain and formerly of West Hartford, CT, died peacefully in her sleep on July 19, 2013. Her beloved husband of 40 years, Morton L. Danseyar, predeceased her on August 19, 1991. Born in Chattanooga, TN, but having grown up in New York City, Dinah earned a bachelor's degree from Queens College in New York, and a master's degree from New York University. She worked as a dietician and then taught school in Brooklyn, New York. Dinah met her husband in March of 1951. They were married on August 25, 1951 and shortly thereafter moved to Connecticut. During those years, Dinah was a loving partner to her husband; raised two daughters; excelled in gardening, cooking and entertaining; studied art; gave tours at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford; joined a French group; and, along with friends, formed a book group that grew and thrived for several decades. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Ellen Gelfon, and her husband, Jeff Gelfon, of Vermont; her daughter, Susan Danseyar and her husband, Scott Pitman of Cambridge, MA; and her granddaughter, Samantha Gelfon, of Vermont, as well as friends in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, and London, U.K. A service given by family and friends took place on July 23rd in Wethersfield, CT, where Dinah entered eternal rest beside her husband.
