HAMMEL, Francis P. Of Franklin and Rockledge, FL, formerly of Dedham, March 10, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Mary R. (Kiley) Hammel. Brother of Thomas I. Hammel of Natick, William P. Hammel of Stoughton, the late John J. Hammel and Catherine M. Vickery. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fran was a WWII Navy Veteran and a retired employee of General Motors for 40 years. Member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association and avid fisherman with his brother Bill. Fran caught a 61 pound Striped Bass setting a record that stood for many years. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. DEDHAM, Monday at 8AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
