GEORGE VINCENT WARD Obituary
Ward, George Vincent
Of Braintree, 88 years of age, entered Life Eternal at South Shore Hospital on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born in Boston and graduated from Dorchester High School and Northeastern University. He was the retired Assistant Chief Probation Officer at the Quincy District Court where he was employed from 1969 to 1992. In earlier years he served as a Boston Police Officer with Station 6 in South Boston as a Juvenile Officer. He belonged to the Boston Police Relief Association. George was a disabled Navy Veteran of W.W.II. He belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 29 in Braintree. He was the loving husband of Virginia M. (Devlin) Ward and the devoted father of Anne F. Rice married to W. James Rice of Plymouth, Patricia M. Sears married to David Sears of Weymouth, Joyce M. Meaden married to Kenneth Meaden, Sr. of Weymouth and Virginia Ward Muh of Weymouth. He was the loving grandfather of William Lemay, Julie Prillinger, Nicole Rossics, Kathleen Muh, Jacquelyn Muh and Kenneth Meaden, Jr. He is also survived by five great grandchildren. George was the brother of Margaret A. DeGraan of Braintree and the late Ethel M. Beurman. Visiting hours will be at the Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St., Braintree Wednesday January 16th from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. There will be a gathering at the funeral home Thursday, January 17th (his birthday) at 11:00 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, South Braintree at 12 o'clock noon. Burial will follow at Braintree Cemetery.
